The economy has to be in the right shape for transformation to take place. Unfortunately at the rate at which things are going, it is far-fetched to expect any meaningful level of transformation to be achieved, if at all.
This is the gist of the sentiment that the President of the Black Management Forum, Bonang Mohale has expressed following the release of a study on transformation with financial services firm, Deloitte.
He explained that the ultimate goal of transformation was to distribute wealth, however, with no economic growth there would be nothing to distribute. “It’s no good the government fixating on transformation if its policies continue to impede on economic growth.”
