As part of the City of Johannesburg build-up activities towards the commemoration of World AIDS Day, the Johannesburg AIDS Council chaired by Executive Mayor, Clr Parks Tau, will acknowledge the Caregivers from Home Based Care organisations and Hospices working in the City for their dedication towards the care offered to people affected and infected by HIV and AIDS on Friday, 29 November 2013 at Ubuntu Kraal in Soweto.
Through this event the City of Joburg wishes to thank all caregivers for the sacrifices they make in caring for sick persons at homes. The City also acknowledges that caregivers provide care that helps ill people and families to maintain their independence and achieve the best possible quality of life. The care provided by these organisations reduces the burden on Primary Health Care services rendered by the City, and is highly appreciated by the City and the community.
