Digital marketing has become the easiest way to grow brands. Are you using it? If not, what are you waiting for?
Don’t fret, this article can be the rainbow you’ve been waiting for.
But before we dive in, perhaps let’s answer this easy question:
Why digital marketing matters today than ever
Things started to change when Mr coronavirus (AKA Covid-19) entered the scene. A real nasty insidious party pooper.
He forced us to wear masks, work from home, read tons of boring blog posts, and binge on Netflix shows. Take a look around, he still got the whole world on “locked down”.
Like literally.
Covid-19 changed many things on the business front except this: we were all still expected to pay our bills. So that meant many businesses had to reevaluate their advertising campaigns real fast. Radio and TV ads were first to be put on hold.
Social media campaigns started gaining more momentum. But the aim remained the same – to engage prospects and convert them. That’s half of the story though.
Here are some of the reasons why digital marketing matters more:
1. There are more smartphone users
Since Covid hit, we’ve seen a significant increase in mobile users globally. There are currently 3.8 billion smartphone users in the world today, according to the latest data from GSMA Intelligence.
There’s a good reason for this: our mobile phones are within reach, so it makes perfect sense that your website should be mobile-friendly.
2. More people do their shopping online today
Creating a mobile responsive website should be a good start. If your website is mobile friendly, then think about this:
At least 2.14 billion people worldwide are purchasing goods online. Wait for the most interesting part…nearly half of the consumers shop more on mobile.
Before those people become customers digital marketing allows you to convert them. Once they have bought from your online store, you can retarget them with relevant content. Like my daughter would say, “it’s super nice”
3. It’s easy to measure results
The advantage of marketing your business online is that it’s pretty easy to measure results. You can see how many people visited your website, which ads they clicked on, and from which country they’re from. And so on.
So get the following sorted out ASAP:
- Make sure you have a strong social media presence. Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest are the first platforms you should jump on.
- Come up with a concrete social media strategy, or hire a social media expert to design one for you.
- Make sure your site is mobile friendly by running a Google Mobile-Friendly test. Do this now before it’s free!
